Budget and capabilities of information technology governance: empirical analysis in higher education institutes

Despite empirical improvements in Ecuador's higher institutes preparing for information technology (IT) governance, much remains to be done improve understanding of the maturity governance structures, processes, and relational mechanisms with referential budget allocated IT departments. In this sense, objective work is analyze allocated, from predictive point view, going through a descriptive process. The data that was analyzed comes 2020 opinion survey, conducted by group researchers support National Secretariat Higher Education, Science, Technology, Innovation Ecuador (SENESCYT). total, 18 completed survey information. findings show considerable absence internal weak positive negative relationship between variables; low level capacities, time being, not significant institutional budget. conclusion, analysis can provide baseline assist preparation action plans institution-building. addition, it allowed identifying several weaknesses strengths, only institutions but also research.
